Visible Cringing and other faux pas

Nothing makes a person's true feelings be known like a visible cringe.

Example: "Hey everyone, we are expecting another baby . . . and guess what, it's a boy!" Followed by the noticeable visible cringe.

I'm not sure what the appropriate response is. Ideas?

My other favorite thing that we have been getting a lot of (outside of cringing and audible moans) is the comment from well-meaning people which usually happens at least twice a week. It goes a little something like this:

"Don't worry dear, one day they will be all grown up and you will miss these days when you had to wrestle them into submission at church."

Or . . .

"Boys are much easier to raise than girls. Just wait until they are teenagers and the worst that you have to deal with is keeping the fridge full while the rest of us are dealing with overactive hormones." (Apparently teenage boys do not have overactive hormones. Good to know.)

All sarcasm aside, guess what! We are having another baby, and it's a boy! We really are quite excited. Everyone kept asking us if we were wanting a girl this time around, and honestly the answer was no. We love our boys! We love their energy and enthusiasm. We love tractors and sand boxes; baseball caps and baseball bats; superheroes and bad guys.

Happy Wednesday everyone! May your day be full of wiggles and a big case of the rowdies!
