Our Zoo Trip

For Brian's birthday this year we took the boys to the Hogle Zoo. What an adventure! We had such a great time. Connor especially loved seeing all the animals that he has only seen in books. Here are some pictures of the day; enjoy!

Standing

Ethan decided yesterday that he would perfect his crawling technique. Since he finally figured out how to crawl (move right hand, move left leg . . . move left hand, move right leg . . .) he decided today he had better move on to something new. So, today he started standing up! Crazy kid! The house is now an open battlefield! Here's a cute movie of him standing.

Monkey Independence

I've been trying to get Connor to assert some of his 3-year-old independence. I'll ask him every day what he wants to wear or what he wants for lunch . . . just little inconsequential things like that. Well, this morning he brought me his monkey Halloween costume and informed me that he would like to get dressed. Who am I to disagree? Here's how our breakfast conversation went:

"Connor, are you hungry?"

"Yep! The little monkey is huuuungry."

"Okay, what would the little monkey like to eat?"

Pause, with a DUH-like look at mom, "I eat bananas!"

Silly me, what was I thinking. We might get some interesting looks at the grocery store today when I take a monkey. Speaking of which, I better remember to stock up on bananas . . .

Chivalry

As one of our wards MANY mid-week activities, they have a playgroup on Thursdays. Today Connor, Ethan, and I decided to check it out. So, after getting everyone all settled in jackets, shoes, Ethan in the stroller, and trying to tame Connor's wild cowlick, we set off for the park. There were only few people at the park, which was kind of nice. One of the little girls, Taylee, decided she and Connor were going to be good friends. So, when Connor climbed up the slide (what a rebel-rouser) she followed after him. She got part-way up and said to Connor, "Come hold my hand!" So, he gallantly came and held her hand and helped her finish climbing up the slide. And then he helped her up again . . . and again . . . and again . . . You get the idea. They were pretty cute together! And they say chivalry is dead!

Our Fun Family

We had a fun family reunion at Bear Lake this summer. Outside of fun in the sun, lots of yummy food, and good company, we had some entertainment provided by my aunts. I hope everyone enjoys this as much as I did!

New Blogger on the Loose

I kept telling myself, "Reesa, you don't need to start a blog. You don't have time to do this. Who would be interested in reading about you guys?" And yet, here I am. Don't ask . . . I have really enjoyed looking at other people's blogs, so here is hoping that someone, somewhere enjoys looking at our family's.
